BURNLEY WOMAN AVOIDS JAIL AFTER ASSAULT ON EX-PARTNER IN TV DISPUTE
A woman named Kim Ada Olson, aged 44, from Spencer Street, Burnley, was involved in a physical altercation with her ex-partner, Jeanette Drabble. The incident was reportedly over furniture after their relationship ended.
Olson admitted to assault by beating and was given a 12-month conditional discharge with £50 in costs.
According to the court, Olson had gone to Ms.
Drabble's home to retrieve her television and suite, warning her that they would be out in the street if she did not comply.
Olson then forced Ms.
Drabble to leave by grabbing her hair and hitting her, although her solicitor stated she pushed her out of the house rather than striking her.
Ms.
Drabble later retracted her statement and told police she had been drunk at the time.
The prosecution, represented by Bill Maude, explained that Olson and the victim had separated, with a dispute over furniture, and Olson had said she went to Ms.
Drabble’s house to demand her belongings.
Olson claimed she had gone to warn Ms.
Drabble to retrieve her TV and furniture, which led to the altercation.
The court proceedings revealed the emotional aftermath of their breakup, with alcohol playing a role in the high tensions.
