KIERON STAINROD FROM ROTHERHAM SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES AT SHEFFIELD CROWN COURT
In a case that has shocked the local community of Rotherham, Kieron Stainrod, aged 21, faced justice at Sheffield Crown Court for a series of serious sexual offences involving two young girls. The court heard that Stainrod, who resides on Ellis Street in Brinsworth, was responsible for abusing a 12-year-old girl when he was himself only 16 years old.
The assault involved an act of sexual penetration, a crime that carries significant legal consequences.
In addition to this, Stainrod was found to have engaged in sexual activity with another girl, who was between 15 and 16 years old at the time.
These incidents occurred over a span of years, specifically from 2014 to 2016, highlighting a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior involving minors.
The court was informed that Stainrod had admitted to all charges during earlier hearings, demonstrating a level of remorse or acknowledgment of his actions.
Judge Paul Watson presided over the case and delivered a sentence that, while serious, was somewhat mitigated by the circumstances.
Stainrod was sentenced to 12 months in prison, but this term was suspended for two years, meaning he will not serve time immediately provided he complies with certain conditions.
Additionally, he was ordered to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activities, aimed at addressing underlying issues and preventing future offending.
Judge Watson emphasized that Stainrod was himself young and immature at the time of the offences, which influenced his decision.
He stated, “I’m dealing with somebody who was himself young, was immature and has pleaded guilty to all these offences.
Somebody who has done everything he can to put these matters well and truly behind him.” Furthermore, as part of his sentence, Stainrod will be required to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, a measure designed to monitor and manage the risk he may pose to the community in the future.
The case has raised concerns among residents of Rotherham, especially those in Brinsworth, where Stainrod resides, highlighting the importance of vigilance and community safety in the wake of such disturbing allegations.
