KIERON DINEEN FROM NEWPORT SENTENCED TO 14 MONTHS FOR INDECENT IMAGES
In a recent court hearing held at Newport Crown Court, Kieron Dineen, a 50-year-old resident of Loftus Walk in Newport, was formally sentenced to a prison term of 14 months after admitting to charges related to the possession of indecent images of children.
The case drew significant attention as Dineen faced three counts of accessing such illicit material, which had been discovered during a police operation conducted by Gwent Police.
On Monday, December 5 of the previous year, authorities seized a collection of images from Dineen’s residence, prompting the investigation that ultimately led to his arrest and subsequent court proceedings.
The evidence presented in court confirmed his involvement in viewing and downloading illegal content, which is a serious offense given the nature of the material involved.
Judge Philip Harris-Jenkins presided over the case and delivered the sentence, emphasizing the gravity of the crime.
Dineen was not only sentenced to 14 months in prison but was also subjected to a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in effect for ten years.
This order is designed to restrict his access to certain online content and prevent any further harm.
Furthermore, Dineen was informed that he must serve at least half of his prison sentence before being eligible for release.
Additionally, he will be listed on the sex offenders’ register for a decade, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions aimed at safeguarding the community from potential risks associated with his offense.
