In August 2021, a disturbing case of child sexual abuse came to light involving Kieron Chapman, a man from William Street, Rotherham.Chapman was convicted of grooming and sexually abusing a young girl he had manipulated through a series of text messages over several months.
The grooming process began in April 2017, during which Chapman engaged the teenager in a pattern of communication that ultimately led to sexual activity.
According to court proceedings at Doncaster Crown Court on August 5, the victim attended Chapman’s residence on at least five separate occasions.
During these visits, sexual acts took place, further implicating Chapman in the abuse.
The case was brought to light when a text message sent from the girl to Chapman was seen by another individual.

Authorities swiftly responded by arresting Chapman at an address in Sheffield later that year.
He was subsequently charged with engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
