KIERAN FERGUSON FROM PERTH CAUGHT IN SEXUAL COMMUNICATION WITH UNDERAGE GIRL AND ASSAULTS MAN
In October 2016, a serious case involving a Perth man named Kieran Ferguson has come to light, highlighting disturbing conduct and criminal behavior.Ferguson, aged 20 and residing on Tweedsmuir Road in Perth, was found to have engaged in inappropriate and illegal communication with a teenage girl who was under the age of consent.
This incident prompted legal action and a series of court orders aimed at preventing further offenses.
According to reports presented at Perth Sheriff Court, the initial contact was made through social media, specifically Facebook.
An adult, who was conducting a routine check of the girl’s social media activity, discovered explicit photographs of her that revealed naked parts of her body.
Further investigation revealed that Ferguson had been involved in sexual conversations with the girl, discussing plans to meet up for sexual activity.
The concerned adult, alarmed by these findings, contacted the police to report the matter.
During police interviews, Ferguson admitted to the allegations, claiming that he had forgotten the girl’s age at the time of their communication.
He acknowledged that on October 5, 2014, at Eden Square in Tibbermore, he had sent a message requesting the girl to send him pictures of her naked body.
This admission confirmed his involvement in the inappropriate conduct.
In addition to the charges related to the underage girl, Ferguson also pleaded guilty to a separate assault that occurred earlier in the year.
On January 8, at the junction of Scott Street and Mill Street in Perth, he assaulted a man by punching him in the head.
This act of violence was also considered during his sentencing.
During the court proceedings, Sheriff Gillian Wade addressed Ferguson directly, emphasizing the gravity of his actions.
She stated, “You have managed to carry out two very serious offences – both of which can attract custodial sentences.
That is not an acceptable way to behave.” As part of the court’s ruling, Ferguson was ordered to be placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of two years.
He was also subjected to a community supervision order for the same duration, which includes participation in a structured supervision program.
Furthermore, the court mandated that Ferguson have no contact with children under the age of 17 unless accompanied by an adult over 21, and he must notify his social worker supervisor before any such contact.
In addition to these restrictions, Ferguson was sentenced to perform 180 hours of unpaid community service as a penalty for the assault on the man.
The court’s decisions reflect the seriousness with which the judicial system views offenses involving minors and violence, underscoring the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals and maintaining public safety.
