KIERAN BROSIUS SENTENCED IN MILBORNE PORT FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES INVOLVING CHILDREN NEAR SHERBORNE

In a case that has shocked the local community of Milborne Port and the surrounding areas near Sherborne, Kieran Brosius, a 22-year-old man, has been formally sentenced to prison for a series of serious sexual offences involving minors. The court proceedings, held at Taunton Crown Court, revealed a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior that spanned over several years and involved multiple victims.

According to court records, Brosius first came under police scrutiny in October 2017 after authorities discovered he had been actively sending indecent images of children through a Kik messenger account. This initial investigation led to a search of his residence, where law enforcement officials uncovered a troubling collection of digital evidence. Among the items seized were a mobile phone, a USB stick, and a Micro SD card, all containing over 1,000 indecent images of children, along with numerous videos depicting similar material.

Following this discovery, Brosius was released under investigation but was re-arrested in January of the following year. During this second arrest, authorities found him uploading indecent images via Google, further implicating him in ongoing illegal activity. The investigation took a more alarming turn when Brosius’s father contacted police after a nine-year-old girl in Canada reported that Kieran Brosius had solicited explicit images from her. This international connection added a new dimension to the case and prompted further searches.

Subsequently, law enforcement officials executed a search at Brosius’s new address in Milborne Port, near Sherborne. During this search, they seized a laptop, a mobile phone, and an iPhone, all of which contained additional indecent images. The evidence collected painted a clear picture of Brosius’s continued engagement in the possession and distribution of child exploitation material.

In a separate investigation, Lancashire Police became involved after a mother reported that her 11-year-old son had been targeted by a stranger who encouraged him to perform sexual acts and send explicit images. The investigation quickly identified Brosius as the perpetrator. It was revealed that Brosius had falsely claimed to be 14 years old to the young boy, who was actually in his early teens, nearly half Brosius’s age. Over a three-week period, Brosius persistently sent messages to the boy, attempting to manipulate and exploit him.

Rachel Drake, representing the Crown Prosecution Service, described the messages as revealing the boy’s sexual naivety and Brosius’s relentless efforts to corrupt him. She characterized the messages as disturbing and deeply troubling. During police interviews, Brosius admitted to attempting to contact five or six other children for similar purposes but was unsuccessful in those cases.

Defense lawyer Harry Ahuja acknowledged Brosius’s entrenched sexual interest in children, which he described as a significant factor in the case. Ultimately, Judge Timothy Rose sentenced Brosius to six years in prison, with an extended license period of five years. Additionally, Brosius was subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, aimed at protecting the community from further harm. The case underscores the ongoing threat posed by individuals like Brosius and highlights the importance of vigilance and law enforcement efforts in safeguarding children from exploitation.
