KEVIN SKAITH'S REIGN OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN LINCOLN REVEALED

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Lincoln, Kevin Skaith, a man with a troubling history linked to child pornography, has once again come under scrutiny for his illicit activities. Skaith, a former publisher of the Lincolnshire Gazette, demonstrated a disturbing pattern of behavior that persisted even after serving time in prison.

According to court proceedings, Skaith returned to his family residence in uphill Lincoln shortly after his release from incarceration. It was there that authorities uncovered a vast collection of indecent images of children, revealing that his obsession had not been curbed by his previous imprisonment. The police were alerted to his activities through a confidential source, which led to a raid on his home in April 2007.

During the operation, law enforcement officers discovered a CD-ROM inserted into a DVD player connected to Skaith’s television. Upon examination, the disc was found to contain a staggering 1,166 indecent images of children. Skaith attempted to dismiss these images as “old stuff,” but further investigation uncovered a hidden stash of CD-ROMs concealed behind a kickboard in his bedroom. The authorities ultimately recovered an astonishing total of 119,688 indecent images of children from his belongings.

This case is not the first time Skaith’s actions have led to legal consequences. In May 2005, he was sentenced to three and a half years in prison, with an additional three-year extended license period, after police raids on his home in Thonock Close, Lincoln, uncovered thousands of child pornography images. Despite this, Skaith was released early on license on March 1, 2007. However, his freedom was short-lived, as just six weeks later, he was re-arrested. Analysis of his computer and CD-ROMs revealed that he had resumed viewing indecent images in the very month of his release.

Following his latest arrest, Skaith, now 42 and reportedly without a fixed address, pleaded guilty to possessing an enormous collection of 119,688 child pornographic images on April 27, 2007. He also admitted to nine charges of creating indecent photographs of children, spanning from April 18, 2005, to April 22, 2007. His case has drawn attention to the ongoing issue of child exploitation and the challenges law enforcement faces in combating such heinous crimes.

Giles Bedloe, representing Skaith in court, acknowledged the severity of his client’s condition, stating, “This is clearly a man who has a problem and an obsession. It is an addiction which needs addressing.” Skaith has since been returned to Whatton Prison to serve the remainder of his sentence, continuing a cycle of punishment for his disturbing actions.
