KEVIN SEMPERS FROM UXBRIDGE SENT TO JAIL FOR MOLESTATION NEAR HEATHROW AND EALING

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Kevin Sempers, a 29-year-old former Commonwealth Games decathlete and current teaching assistant from Uxbridge, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after admitting to engaging in sexual activities with a 14-year-old girl. The incident took place over two consecutive days and involved a series of inappropriate and illegal actions that have left many questioning the judgment and conduct of the accused.

According to court records, Sempers first came into contact with the young girl through Facebook, where their interaction began as a dare. What started as innocent messaging quickly escalated into a sexualized exchange, with the two exchanging mobile phone numbers and continuing their communication. The court heard that Sempers, who had competed at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, was aware of the girl’s age but chose to ignore the boundaries that should have prevented further contact.

The first encounter occurred on April 26 of the previous year, when the girl, distressed after being bitten by a dog, called Sempers for support. They arranged to meet in a car park in Ealing, where they shared a kiss and engaged in touching. During this meeting, Sempers was told by the girl that she did not want to have sex because she was too young. Despite her clear statement, Sempers responded with a chilling, “I’ll wait,” indicating his intentions to pursue the matter further.

The following day, after the girl informed Sempers about her dog attack, they met again, this time at an easyHotel car park near Heathrow Airport. Their meeting culminated in Sempers assaulting her in the backseat of his car. The girl later confided in her friends, which prompted her school and social services to become involved. An anonymous phone call from a concerned parent raised suspicions about Sempers’ relationship with the girl, leading to an investigation.

During the court proceedings, Sempers admitted to two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child under 16, just a day after a jury had been sworn in to try him. Judge Douglas Moore, presiding over the case, emphasized the gravity of Sempers’ position as a teaching assistant and the breach of trust involved. The judge pointed out that Sempers had prior contact with other girls via Facebook, which he described as a pattern of behavior that lacked ill intent but was nonetheless inappropriate.

Judge Moore highlighted the fact that Sempers had opportunities to cease contact with the girl but chose to continue, ultimately leading to the illegal encounters. The court noted that Sempers’s actions demonstrated grooming behavior, driven perhaps by vanity or desire, and that his conduct was entirely of his own making. The judge condemned such predatory behavior, stating that individuals who exploit young girls are likely to face immediate custodial sentences.

Throughout the proceedings, Sempers expressed deep remorse for his “awful and damaging” choices, acknowledging the harm caused to both his family and the girl’s family. It was also reported that he claimed to have admitted the offenses to prevent his victim from enduring the trauma of testifying in court.

Sempers, residing on Ferndale Crescent in Uxbridge, was sentenced to serve 18 months in prison and will be required to register as a sex offender for the next ten years. His case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable young individuals and the severe consequences faced by those who breach their trust in such a grievous manner.
