ISLE OF WIGHT MAN KEVIN NIXON FACES DELAYED SENTENCING FOR VOYEURISM
The sentencing of an Isle of Wight man who sought sexual gratification by recording his victim, who was unaware they were being filmed, has been delayed again.
Kevin Nixon, of Melville Street in Sandown, attended the IW Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Friday, August 8.
The 64-year-old pleaded guilty to voyeurism – recording a private act – at his first hearing on December 3 last year.
Between August 1 and October 26, 2023, Nixon recorded another person doing a ‘private act’, without their consent, for his own sexual gratification.
The court heard that the case had been adjourned multiple times due to Nixon’s poor health, including a medical incident that happened the day before his original sentencing date on April 29.
After Nixon’s first hearing, a pre-sentence report was prepared by the Probation Service, but the court was told that Nixon's circumstances had changed, and a new report was required before judgement could be passed.
Magistrates agreed and adjourned sentencing again until October 17.
