PREDATOR WHO BEFRIENDED FAMILIES TO SEXUALLY ABUSE YOUNG CHILDREN JAILED
A man who gained the trust of families in order to sexually abuse young children has received a prison sentence after being convicted of assaulting four minors over a span of seven years.Kevin Myson, aged 45, residing at The Homing in Cambridge, was found responsible for abusing two boys and two girls sometime between 1998 and 2005.
He was apprehended in October 2016 after allegations emerged regarding historic sexual abuse made by the victims.
Myson denied a total of 13 charges related to indecent assault on a child, along with accusations of indecency with a child and rape.
Following a two-week trial at Peterborough Crown Court that concluded on May 21, he was acquitted of one charge of child rape and one count of indecent assault but was convicted on 15 other charges.
On July 2, at Cambridge Crown Court, he was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment, with an additional eight years of extended license.
He will also be subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and be registered as a sex offender for life.
