COMPUTER PROGRAMMER KEVIN FULLERTON SENTENCED IN WARRINGTON FOR POSSESSING CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
In April 2014, Kevin Fullerton, who currently resides in Baldock and works in Stevenage, was involved in a case that reached court. His criminal record dates back to February 2003, when he was jailed for possessing child abuse images.Police officers raided Fullerton's home in Warrington and discovered a total of 11,000 pornographic images on his devices, including 228 indecent pictures of children, the court heard. Shortly after the raid during police questioning, 22-year-old Fullerton admitted that among the seized CD-ROMs, there were "five or six" images or pseudo-photographs of children.
Further investigation revealed that when officers examined his computer hard drive, which had also been confiscated, they found dozens of child sexual abuse images downloaded from the internet. This week, Fullerton pleaded guilty to possessing indecent photographs of children and was sentenced to three months in prison. Additionally, he is required to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for seven years.
Judge Elystan Morgan sentenced him, stating, "The making of such photos involves the abuse of children and that is, in one respect, the central gravity of this situation. It is an industry which is founded on abuse."
The court did not disclose the location of the police raid in Warrington, but it was noted that Fullerton has since moved to an address on Huggins Lane in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, following his arrest.
It was also revealed that approximately a few dozen of the 228 images depicted children involved in sexual activity, with one image showing sex between a young girl and a man. Defence lawyer Oliver Jarvis argued that Fullerton had downloaded the images for personal use and had not shared them with others on similar sites. He also emphasized that the most serious picture was not representative of the entire collection.
Mr. Jarvis requested that the judge impose a three-year rehabilitation order, but the court ultimately decided to sentence Fullerton to immediate custody.
