KENNETH FOX FROM EDINBURGH SENTENCED FOR PREDATORY SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS
In a case that has shocked the community of Edinburgh, Kenneth Fox, aged 57, has been sentenced to serve a significant prison term after being found guilty of a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against three young girls over a span of more than a decade.Fox, a resident of Gylemuir Road in Corstorphine, was convicted at Edinburgh Sheriff Court following a trial where the evidence against him was compelling and detailed.
The court heard how Fox, who initially appeared to be an ordinary man, had systematically manipulated and gained the trust of the victims’ families before subjecting the children to a pattern of abuse that would leave lasting scars.
One of the victims, now aged 11, is related to Fox as a great niece.
An emotional statement was made outside the court by her great uncle, who described Fox as a “predator, an out-and-out predator.” He expressed his shock at how Fox had deceived those around him, saying, “When I knew him, he seemed just a regular guy but he conned me – he conned us all.
He’s poison and the only way to get rid of poison is to cut it out.” Throughout the proceedings, Fox maintained his innocence, but the court found sufficient evidence to convict him of multiple charges.
He was found guilty of sexually assaulting two of his victims and engaging in lewd acts and sexual activity with the third.
The youngest victim, only five years old at the time, was subjected to indecent acts at addresses in Kirkliston and Perth between February 2003 and 2008.
The abuse continued over the years, and between February 2014 and February 2015, Fox performed a sexual act in front of her, further traumatizing her.
Another girl, aged seven when the abuse began, was assaulted at the same Kirkliston residence from May 2012 to December 2013.
The third victim, who was 11, was sexually abused on multiple occasions at the same address between November 2014 and March 2015.
Expressing his concern, the great uncle added, “He’s messed up these three young girls’ lives.
He could be out in 18 months doing whatever he wants but this is going to be a big part of their lives.
She’s totally messed up and has mood swings.
Kids are innocent, it’s up to us as adults to protect them.” In sentencing Fox, Sheriff Norman McFadyen emphasized the severity and duration of the offenses, describing Fox as a “continuing threat to young girls.” The sheriff sentenced him to 42 months in prison, with the second part of the sentence to be served under supervision in the community for an extended period of 30 months.
Additionally, Fox was ordered to comply with an eight-year sexual offences prevention order, which prohibits him from approaching children.
Sheriff McFadyen stated, “You’ve been convicted of serious sexual offences against young girls over a long period of time.
You appear to have groomed those girls after coming into social contact with them one way or another.
Those girls gave compelling evidence against you.”
