The offences, which took place in Sheffield, involved Mawson showing explicit pornography to six minors, some as young as nine years old, with the oldest victim being only 14.
The gravity of his actions was highlighted during the proceedings at Sheffield Crown Court, where Mawson pleaded guilty to multiple counts of sexual misconduct.
Specifically, he admitted to nine counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and twelve counts of causing a child to observe a sexual act.
