MAN CONVICTED OF MURDER AFTER STABBING PARTNER 17 TIMES IN DEPTFORD

A man named Leon Murray, aged 35 and without a fixed address, was found guilty of the murder of his partner, Keisha Christodoulou, aged 32. The incident occurred on November 1, 2022, just one day after she expressed her intention to end their relationship. Murray traveled to their flat in Tanner’s Hill, Deptford, where he assaulted Keisha by stabbing her 17 times with a sharp instrument. After committing the attack, he changed his clothes and proceeded to pick up their six-year-old daughter from school. Upon arrival, he told a school staff member that 'it is done' and that he had 'ended' Keisha. Emergency services responded quickly, but despite their efforts, Keisha was pronounced dead at the scene due to sharp force trauma to the chest. The trial at Wood Green Crown Court concluded with Murray being found guilty of murder on Friday. Although he admitted to the killing, his defense argued diminished responsibility, but the jury determined he had no substantial impairment and was aware of his actions. He is scheduled for sentencing at the same court on Monday. Detective Inspector Adam Clifton of the Metropolitan Police commented on the case, condemning Murray’s actions as 'horrific' and 'selfish,' and emphasized the police’s commitment to tackling violence against women and domestic abuse.
