KEY DETAILS OF KEIRAN CONNELLY'S SENTENCING IN BALLINGRY
A 28-year-old man from Ballingry, Keiran Connelly, has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for a series of threatening and violent behaviors directed at his former partner, a friend of hers, police officers, and others. Connelly, who previously pleaded guilty to numerous offences, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.The court learned that on April 17 at Acorn Court, Glenrothes, Connelly behaved in a racially aggravated manner towards a man by shouting, swearing, making threats of violence, and making offensive remarks. On May 5, he made threats to damage property and verbally threatened his ex-partner during phone calls. On the same day, at Ballingry Crescent, he behaved threateningly by shouting and swearing, wielding a broken paving slab and a petrol canister, making violent threats to police and a dog, and challenging the officers to fight before punching and kicking a shed.
Connelly also previously admitted to criminal behavior involving domestic abuse. The court was told that he has been convicted twice before for domestic abuse against different partners. The sheriff highlighted his history of violence and disorder and sentenced him to serve 20 months in custody starting from May 7. Additional penalties included a supervised release order and a two-year non-harassment order.
The prosecution’s deputy stated that Connelly’s former partner was frightened of him and emphasized the need for a non-harassment order.
As of April 23, 2025, it has been reported that Keiran Connelly is currently serving a two-year prison sentence for his most recent domestic assault, breaches of bail, and controlling/coercive behavior. Upon his release, he will be subject to a seven-year non-harassment order.
