KATRINA PARKINSON AND PETER BROOKS FROM LEIGH INVOLVED IN HORRIFIC ANIMAL-RELATED CRIMES IN GREATER MANCHESTER

Katrina Joanne Parkinson, born on September 13, 1992, and residing on Falcon Drive in Little Hulton, along with Peter Brooks, born circa 1989 and living on Kirkhall Lane in Leigh, Wigan, have been convicted of heinous crimes involving the creation and distribution of extremely disturbing and depraved pornographic material. The case has shocked the local community and raised serious concerns about animal cruelty and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals.

Parkinson, who is a mother of two and works professionally as a massage therapist, was found to have produced three highly disturbing videos. These videos depicted her engaging in sexual acts with puppies, estimated to be between five and seven in number. The videos were not only shocking in their content but also in their apparent intent, as Parkinson sent them via WhatsApp to her boyfriend, Peter Brooks. The motive behind this transmission appeared to be an attempt to rekindle their relationship, with Parkinson hoping to reignite Brooks’s interest through these explicit and morally reprehensible recordings.

Following the exchange of these videos, the pair engaged in a series of messages that they described as “jokey,” which further highlighted their disturbing attitude towards the content. Importantly, authorities found no evidence to suggest that the puppies had been physically harmed during the filming of these videos, nor was there any indication that the videos had been distributed beyond their private exchange. However, the investigation uncovered additional material on Parkinson’s electronic devices, revealing a total of 13 extreme pornographic images and videos. These included graphic depictions of sexual acts involving humans and animals, specifically dogs and horses, which are considered highly illegal and morally repugnant.

Both individuals faced serious legal consequences. Parkinson, who also faces the social repercussions of her actions, pleaded guilty to possessing 13 extreme pornographic images and publishing three videos of similar content. Her lawyer acknowledged that her actions had already resulted in significant personal consequences, including involvement from social services, which led to her children no longer residing with her. Brooks, who also has children, admitted to possessing a single extreme pornographic image.

During the court proceedings, Judge Suzanne Goddard QC condemned the acts as “utterly disgusting and depraved,” emphasizing that society finds the creation and possession of such material as utterly unacceptable. She stated, “The facts of this case are utterly repugnant to ordinary, decent members of society,” underscoring the severity of the crimes committed.

In sentencing, Parkinson received a six-month prison sentence, which was suspended for 18 months. Additionally, she was ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid community service and participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities. Brooks was sentenced to four months in prison, also suspended for 12 months, along with 100 hours of unpaid work and 20 days of rehabilitation. He was further ordered to contribute £250 towards prosecution costs, reflecting the seriousness with which the court viewed their actions and the need for accountability in cases involving animal abuse and extreme pornography.
