KATIE NOTTLE AND DARIUSZ ZWIERZYCZK OF BODMIN CONVICTED OVER NEGLECTED CAT

In 2019, Katie Nottle, born October 31, 1994, and Dariusz Zwiercyzk, born circa 1975, both residing on Wallace Road, Bodmin PL31, were found guilty of neglecting their cat. They abandoned their flea-infested pet, Tigger, who was suffering from untreated sores on his head and neck.

Both individuals admitted to causing unnecessary suffering to Tigger, who was discovered with scabs, sores, and a heavy flea infestation.

RSPCA Inspector Claire Ryder stated: "Sadly Tigger was left to suffer and had painful scabs and sores on his head and neck, which could have easily been avoided by seeking suitable veterinary care."

She added, "Pet owners have a responsibility to address any health conditions – animals can’t help themselves and rely on their owners for proper care. Anyone concerned about their pet’s health should seek help and advice to prevent unnecessary pain and suffering."

The court sentenced Nottle and Zwiercyzk to pay a total of £120 each in costs and charges. Additionally, both individuals received a seven-year ban from keeping animals, which will expire in March 2026.
