JUSTIN SANDILANDS, BEDFORDSHIRE PAEDOPHILE, SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS IN PRISON IN SHEFFORD
A paedophile from Bedfordshire, Justin Sandilands of Shefford, has been sentenced to four years in prison after he committed serious sexual offenses against a young girl and amassed a collection of disturbing child sex abuse images.The police located the illicit material during a raid on Sandilands' home on Church Street, Shefford, in September 2019.
Authorities had been alerted to his online activity prior to the visit.
Luton Crown Court heard that upon examination of the seized devices, officers uncovered 36 Category A images depicting the abuse of children as young as eight—rated as the most severe type of child abuse material.
Additionally, there were 123 Category B images, considered less severe but still highly inappropriate, along with thousands of Category C images.
The investigation also revealed search terms used by Sandilands that included moving images of child sex abuse.
Sandilands, who appeared in court on Friday, August 13, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including sexual assault on a child, three counts of making indecent images of a child, and one count of possessing a prohibited image.
Judge Gary Lucy sentenced him to four years and ordered the confiscation and destruction of all devices containing the illegal material.
Furthermore, Sandilands was informed that he would be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which will monitor and restrict his internet activity once he is released from prison.
