And in a cruel con, Julian Dale, 49, posed as a widowed father with his own children in messages he sent to unsuspecting sellers. He also searched online for a young child sex doll “without breasts” and Googled naked pictures of boys and girls as young as eight. And when police searched his devices after raiding his Allestree home they found vile child abuse images and one involving sex with a dog. Handing Dale a suspended jail sentence at Derby Crown Court, Judge Robert Egbuna said: “What is very concerning in this case is you seeking to buy a sex doll of a young girl without breasts no doubt because you got sexual gratification from the idea. “You sent sexualised messages to sellers on eBay when purchasing significant amounts of children’s underwear to use as a sex aid. “Some of the images found on your devices showed children as young as eight and when one looks at your internet search history it shows searches such as ‘teen school porn’ and searches for young children, both boys and girls.” Steven Taylor, prosecuting, said an online investigator at eBay alerted Derbyshire police to activity on Dale’s account in 2018. He said: “He was sending inappropriate sexual messages to sellers and was buying large quantities of children’s underwear. “He was looking to buy clothing for young girls pretending to be their dad and saying their mother had died of cancer.” Mr Taylor said police went to Dale’s home in King’s Croft in August last year and seized his computer and electronic devices. On them they found 32 of the most serious category A image, 22 category B and 266 category C. He said: “There was lots and lots and lots of evidence on his search history that he had been actively searching for the images. “There was also a search for a sex doll of a young female child without breasts. “And a pair of female children’s underwear was found under the defendant’s pillow when his bedroom was searched, which shows a worrying indication he was using children’s underwear as a sex aid.” Dale, who only has two previous motoring convictions on his record, pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing indecent images of children. Stuart Newsam, mitigating, said his client is the sole carer for his 84-year-old mother and made admissions about his addiction to viewing the vile images. He said: “He is not holding the court to ransom. “If he is deprived of his liberty today he has made provision for his mother to be put into care.” Judge Egbuna handed Dale a 16-month jail term suspended for two years. He also handed him a two-year community order with 35 rehabilitation requirement days with the probation service. He also handed him a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and ordered him to sign the sex offender register, also for 10 years.
