NORTHAMPTON MAN JAILED FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE AND DRUG OFFENCES CAUGHT HIDING AT 13-YEAR-OLD'S HOME
A drug dealer who has been jailed for sexually abusing a 13-year-old was found hiding behind a shower curtain at her home.Joshua Lloyd, 20, received a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence after admitting one count of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl he knew was underage. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He has been registered as a sex offender for life and is barred from working in regulated activities related to children.Northamptonshire Police started an investigation in 2023 following reports of sexual abuse. During the investigation, police went to the girl’s home where Lloyd was caught hiding behind a shower curtain in her bathroom and was subsequently arrested. In May 2024, while the investigation was still ongoing, officers stopped Lloyd on Goldings Road, Northampton, and found 11 wraps of heroin, 47 of crack cocaine along with cash, which he claimed he intended to sell.Det Con Laura Beeby, speaking after Lloyd’s sentencing at Northampton Crown Court, stated: "Joshua Lloyd was 19 when he met this child and, despite knowing her age, he pursued a sexual relationship with her. I’m glad Lloyd admitted his guilt. Once he is out of prison, he will be closely monitored under stringent conditions for the rest of his life. If he breaches any of these conditions, he faces swift imprisonment."
