JOSHUA FASTNEDGE SENTENCED IN CAVERSHAM FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING MINOR

A resident of Caversham, Joshua Fastnedge, has been handed down a sentence of nearly three years in prison following his conviction at Reading Crown Court for serious sexual offenses involving a minor. The court found Fastnedge, aged 21, guilty of engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15 years old. Additionally, he was convicted of unlawfully taking the girl away from her guardian in December 2013, an act that caused significant concern and distress.

According to court proceedings, the offenses involved the victim, who was later discovered with Fastnedge in early 2014 after she had disappeared from her home. The court heard evidence of her emotional distress and the ongoing trauma she continues to endure as a result of these incidents. The case highlighted the serious nature of the crimes and the impact on the young girl’s well-being.

Detective Constable Jon Nicholls praised the victim’s bravery in coming forward and cooperating with law enforcement. He also commended the police team for their diligent efforts in securing justice for the victim and ensuring that Fastnedge was held accountable for his actions.
