JOSEPH MCFALL, THE EVIL KINGS HEATH PREDATOR, SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR ABUSIVE ONLINE CRIMES IN BIRMINGHAM

In June 2020, a disturbing case emerged involving Joseph McFall, a man from Kings Heath, Birmingham, who engaged in a heinous campaign of online sexual exploitation targeting young girls. McFall, aged 25 and residing on Alcester Road South in Kings Heath, was found to have used the internet as a tool to locate and manipulate vulnerable minors, coercing them into sending explicit videos and photographs of themselves.

His relentless pursuit of new victims was described as insatiable by prosecutors, with evidence revealing that he even watched one girl self-harm during their online interactions. The severity of his actions led to his conviction and subsequent sentencing, which included a 10-year prison term and a lifelong requirement to register as a sex offender.

McFall pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including causing a child to engage in sexual activity, engaging a child in sexual exploitation, causing a child to be exploited, engaging a child in pornography, causing a child to watch a sexual act, and distributing indecent images. The court heard that these offences took place between mid-2018 and the end of 2019, highlighting a prolonged period of predatory behavior.

During the trial at Birmingham Crown Court, prosecutor Adrian Fleming detailed the extent of McFall’s predatory conduct. He explained that McFall had contacted numerous young girls over the internet, exploiting their trust and vulnerability to carry out various sexual exploitation offences. The first known victim was a 14-year-old girl who confided in her mother that she was being coerced into performing sexual acts online.

According to the court, McFall maintained almost daily contact with this girl, demanding she perform sexual acts on a webcam and send explicit images. The victim reported that McFall became increasingly aggressive, even threatening to rape her younger sister and to send compromising photos to her family if she did not comply.

Another young girl, aged 13, was approached with an offer of £2,000 in exchange for an indecent video, which she refused. A 12-year-old victim was also targeted with a similar sickening proposition. Evidence presented in court revealed that McFall had persuaded yet another girl to self-harm in a sexualized manner, further illustrating the disturbing nature of his manipulations.

Chat logs demonstrated McFall’s persistent and menacing approach, including threats to harm the families of his victims and warnings that he would send indecent videos of one girl to her sister. His arrest came on December 11, after the father of one victim contacted paedophile hunters, who successfully tracked him down.

When questioned, McFall admitted to having a sexual interest in girls aged between 13 and 16 and confessed to contacting as many as 25 potential victims. The court acknowledged the profound impact his actions had on the victims, causing long-lasting damage, including loss of trust and emotional distress.

Judge Richard Bond, delivering the sentence, condemned McFall’s actions, stating, “You contacted very young girls on the internet, lied to them about your age and identity, and bullied them into performing various sexual and violent acts to satisfy your own sexual desires. These victims will be deeply affected by your actions for many years to come.”

He further described McFall as an “internet sexual predator” and highlighted the particularly terrible aspect of his offending—forcing one girl to self-harm while he watched, a feature that underscored the depravity of his conduct.
