JOSEPH DENLEY PENSANCE TEACHER GUILTY OF DECADES OF INDECENT ASSAULTS ON BOYS AT MARAZION SCHOOL

In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Penzance and the surrounding areas, Joseph Denley, a retired deputy head teacher, has been convicted of a series of heinous crimes committed against young boys at Marazion County Primary School. The court proceedings revealed a disturbing pattern of abuse spanning over two decades, from 1961 to 1982, involving multiple victims who were as young as seven years old.

Denley, aged 79 and residing on Alma Road in Penzance, faced a total of 48 charges of indecent assault initially brought against him. These charges pertained to 26 boys who attended the school during the period in question. However, during the trial, the prosecution was able to establish guilt on 41 counts involving 23 boys, leading to a conviction. Three of the original charges were dismissed earlier in the proceedings, and four counts resulted in acquittals.

It was during these moments that he would inappropriately put his hand inside their underpants.
