JORDON FORSTER'S BRUTAL ABUSE IN EDINBURGH: FORMER DUNDEE FOOTBALLER'S VIOLENT RAMPAGE REVEALED

A court in Edinburgh has heard harrowing details of a violent and abusive campaign carried out by Jordon Forster, a former professional footballer, against his partner. The proceedings revealed that Forster, aged 31, subjected his partner to a series of brutal assaults, including an incident where he struck her on the head with a bottle during a heated argument at her flat. The court was told that the violence was not isolated but part of a pattern of aggressive behavior that included pushing her against a wall, choking her, and repeatedly lashing out with household objects.

According to the evidence presented, Forster’s temper flared during numerous fiery disputes, during which he would also smash household items and make derogatory remarks aimed at his partner. He attempted to exert control over her choices, including what she wore and what she ate or drank. The court also heard that his violent tendencies extended beyond the partner, as he pushed a child in an attempt to stop the child from intervening during an argument, causing the child to fall to the ground. Additionally, there was an incident at an Edinburgh restaurant where Forster was accused of abusing the same child.

Despite denying all allegations, Forster was found guilty by a jury of five separate offenses committed between 2016 and 2021. The trial, which lasted six days at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, uncovered a disturbing history of violence. This conviction marks his second recent conviction for violent conduct towards a partner, highlighting a troubling pattern of behavior.

The victim recounted her relationship with Forster, which began after they met at an Edinburgh nightclub in 2015. She described the relationship as quickly turning toxic, with Forster displaying aggressive tendencies and frequently calling her derogatory names such as “a fat slag.” She detailed numerous incidents, including smashing dishes and damaging walls during heated outbursts, and recounted being assaulted multiple times, including being hit with a bottle during violent arguments. She also described a particularly frightening incident where Forster pinned her against a wall by her throat and squeezed her neck, leaving her feeling terrified for her life.

The woman described Forster as unpredictable, nasty, and controlling, often hiding bruises with makeup to conceal the abuse. She described living through what she called “the worst time of my life” during the 2020 lockdown, a period marked by constant fear and violence. The jury considered the severity of the assaults to be life-threatening, underscoring the danger she faced.

Following the verdict, Sheriff Christopher Dickson released Forster on bail and deferred sentencing to allow for social work reports to be prepared. At the time of the trial, Forster was employed as a courier. His football career included playing for Dundee, where he made 26 appearances and scored one goal between 2019 and 2021. His career began at Hibernian (Hibs), with loan spells at Berwick Rangers, East Fife, and Plymouth Argyle, before signing with Cheltenham Town. He later played for Kelty Hearts and Tranent Juniors but was dismissed from his position following his 2023 conviction for domestic violence.
