JORDAN WILEMAN PUNCHED CHICKEN IN CARTERTON - RURAL CRIME SHOCKER

Jordan Wileman, born on December 6, 2004, and residing on Sycamore Close in Carterton, has been found guilty of a disturbing act of animal cruelty. The incident involved Wileman physically assaulting a chicken by punching it in the head, an act that has sparked outrage within the local community and beyond.

On February 25, 2023, the young man committed this act at Carterton Community College, located in Oxfordshire. The cruelty was captured on a mobile phone, with footage showing Wileman striking the defenseless bird. Despite the violent assault, the chicken survived the attack; however, it was reported to have suffered long-term distress as a result of the incident.

Thames Valley Police, who investigated the case, confirmed that Wileman pleaded guilty to a single charge of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. The case drew attention to the importance of animal welfare and the need for strict enforcement of laws protecting animals from cruelty.

Investigating officer PC Alasdair Uren, a member of the force’s rural crime taskforce, expressed satisfaction with the court’s handling of the case. He emphasized that the police force is committed to taking animal cruelty cases seriously and will pursue justice for victims of such acts.

As a result of his guilty plea, Wileman was sentenced to a fine of £365. The case has been covered by various news outlets, including the Oxford Mail, BBC News, and ITV News, highlighting the community’s concern over animal cruelty and the legal consequences faced by offenders.
