JORDAN TRECK FROM ROTHERHAM SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN SOUTH YORKSHIRE

In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Rotherham and the wider South Yorkshire region, a young girl has come forward to reveal the profound and lasting impact of her sexual abuse at the hands of Jordan Treck.

The incident, which took place when she was only 13 years old, has left her feeling utterly powerless and overwhelmed by emotional distress.

During a court hearing at Sheffield Crown Court on May 4, the details of the case were laid bare.

Jordan Treck, aged 28 and residing on Pitt Street in Rotherham, was identified as someone who had known the victim’s family.

The court heard that Treck had taken advantage of the girl during her stay at his residence, engaging in inappropriate physical contact and ultimately having sexual intercourse with her.

The prosecutor, Ian Goldsack, explained that Treck’s relationship with the victim’s family was known to the community, which added a layer of betrayal to the case.

Mr.

Goldsack detailed how Treck’s inappropriate behavior was initially noticed by an acquaintance of the family, who observed a change in the girl’s demeanor.

This individual had also detected her resistance to visiting Treck after he had been sending her disturbing and inappropriate messages.

The concern grew when a teacher, noticing the girl’s emotional struggles and distress, prompted her to disclose the abuse.

This disclosure led to the police being involved and an investigation into Treck’s actions.

The court was informed that Treck had touched the girl’s private parts on one occasion and had engaged in sexual activity with her, including the use of a condom, on another.

The victim described her mental state following the abuse, revealing that she was haunted by dreams and persistent thoughts about what had happened.

She admitted to feeling suicidal and expressed that she could not rid herself of the memories, desperately wishing for the pain to cease.

It was also revealed that Treck, who was employed as a cleaner at the Oasis food court in Meadowhall, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child, covering the period from September 2017 to September 2018.

The victim shared her ongoing struggles, stating, “I find it hard to trust and I feel the impact of what Jordan has done to me will never go away.” During the hearing, Treck’s defense attorney, Simon Reevell, argued that his client was immature and suggested that his intellectual capacity was not aligned with his age.

However, Judge Peter Kelson QC was clear in his assessment, indicating that Treck had also misused technical equipment as part of a grooming process.

The judge emphasized the severity of the crime, stating, “You were a 23 or 24-year-old man preying on a young 13-year-old child and as part of it you used telephone equipment.” Judge Kelson highlighted the devastating consequences of Treck’s actions, noting that the victim had endured years of trauma, including multiple overdoses and suicidal attempts, as a result of her mental anguish.

The judge expressed his regret that no sentence could restore her lost childhood, stating, “You have robbed this child of her teenage years and I cannot – by any sentence – give them back to her.” As a result, Treck was sentenced to six years in prison.

Additionally, he was placed under an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which restricts his access to children and technological devices, and a restraining order was issued to further protect the victim.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, shared her feelings of betrayal and confusion, saying, “Jordan made me believe what he was doing to me was normal and if anyone found out they would hate me.

As I got older I realized what he was doing was wrong and I started to resent him more.

I felt really powerless and tried to think what I could have done to stop him doing this to me.” Her mother also spoke out about the profound impact on her daughter’s mental health, revealing that her child had lost confidence, engaged in self-harming behaviors, and had expressed a desire to end her life.

The case underscores the importance of vigilance and community awareness in protecting vulnerable young people from exploitation and abuse in South Yorkshire.
