BRISTOL MAN WHO SEXUALLY ABUSED CHILD JAILED FOR NINE YEARS
A resident of Bristol has been handed a nine-year prison sentence after confessing to committing sexual offences against a minor.
Jordan Searle, aged 40, pleaded guilty at a hearing last month to three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child.
Additionally, he admitted to two counts of producing indecent images of a minor.
Searle will be registered on the sex offenders register for an indefinite period and has also been issued with an ongoing sexual harm prevention order along with a restraining order.
Judge Michael Longman mandated that Searle serve at least two-thirds of his sentence behind bars.
Detective Constable Jon Bevan, involved in the investigation, stated: “Jordan Searle’s reprehensible actions have caused profound suffering to his victim and their family.
It is fitting that he has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term.” He added, “The victim demonstrated remarkable bravery throughout the investigation and court proceedings.
Their resilience has led to a dangerous offender being imprisoned, which they should be very proud of.
Achieving justice in cases of child sexual abuse is often challenging, but our message is clear to all victims: we believe you, we will handle your case with the respect and sensitivity it deserves, and we will conduct a thorough investigation, as this case exemplifies.”
