JORDAN HUITSON CAUGHT IN NEWARK PAEDOPHILE STING AT MANSFIELD KFC

In a serious case that unfolded in Mansfield, a man named Jordan Huitson was caught in a sting operation conducted by a paedophile hunting group, leading to his subsequent conviction and sentencing. The incident took place at a KFC restaurant located in the car park of Mansfield, where Huitson had traveled with the intent of meeting a girl he believed to be 13 years old.

Huitson, a 25-year-old resident of Broughton Drive, Newark, had engaged in online conversations with what he thought was a teenage girl named Sarah. The predator hunting group had set up a decoy account, using a profile picture of a young girl and claiming to be 13 years old. During their digital exchanges, the fake profile repeatedly emphasized her age, expressing fear and vulnerability, yet Huitson continued to communicate with her.

He asked for a photograph and suggested they meet in person, assuring her that “nothing will happen. Just chat.” His inappropriate questions included inquiries about her physical appearance, specifically asking if she had “a good ass” and whether she wore thongs. Despite her expressed fears, Huitson persisted in his attempts to arrange a face-to-face meeting.

According to Tony Stanford, the prosecutor, the conversations culminated in an agreement to meet at the Mansfield KFC car park. When Huitson arrived at the designated location, he was confronted by members of the Predator Hunter group who had been monitoring the online activity. The group’s members then attended his home address, prompting police involvement.

Following his arrest, Huitson was interviewed by law enforcement officers. During the interview, he claimed that his intention in meeting the girl was to ensure she would leave the online site and expressed shock that a 13-year-old was engaging in such conversations. However, the evidence against him was clear.

Huitson faced charges of attempted sexual communication with a child and attempting to meet a child following grooming. The offences were committed between September 26 and October 1, 2017. At Lincoln Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to these charges.

Judge Simon Hirst sentenced Huitson to nine months in prison, but the sentence was suspended for two years. As part of his rehabilitation, Huitson was ordered to participate in a sex offender treatment programme and complete up to 40 days of rehabilitation activities. Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders register for a period of ten years.

Judge Hirst emphasized the importance of specialized intervention, stating, “If I send you to prison for nine months you would be released within a very short period of time. The specialist systems of the probation service would effectively be denied to you. The intention is that by getting that specialist expert help your risk to the public in the future will be limited.”
