JORDAN GOULD FROM LEIGH AND MARTIN FACES SERIOUS CHARGES IN WIGAN AND LIVERPOOL
In June 2021, Jordan Gould, also known as Jordan Gould-Martin, faced legal proceedings in Wigan after he admitted to breaching a sexual harm prevention order. The breach involved his failure to notify authorities about a recent change of residence and the presence of a child at his new address. Gould, aged 26 and residing on Windsor Road in Leigh, appeared before Wigan justices to acknowledge these violations. His criminal history includes a significant conviction from January 2016, when he was sentenced to 18 months in prison for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl. The incident began when Gould-Martin, then 21 and living on Hey Street, engaged in conversation with the girl and her friend, both dressed in school uniforms, after they complimented him as he rode by on his bicycle. Seizing the opportunity, he invited the girls to his home, where he committed sexual acts against one of them.
During the sentencing at Liverpool Crown Court, Judge Robert Trevor-Jones highlighted that Gould-Martin was aware of the girl’s age but still exploited her naivety and immaturity. The judge noted that the girl was reportedly excited and flattered by the attention from an older individual. Despite knowing her age, Gould-Martin engaged in sexual activity with her, having barely known her beforehand.
Gould-Martin’s actions had a lasting impact on the victim, with gossip and false allegations about the incident affecting her schooling and social life. The court found that Gould-Martin had been convicted of sexual activity with the girl after a trial, during which he admitted to sexually touching her but denied knowing she was underage. He was acquitted of rape and two other sexual offences related to the same incident.
As part of his sentence, Gould-Martin was subjected to a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which prohibits him from having contact with girls under 16 years old. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years, underscoring the severity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
