JORDAN ELLIS SENTENCED IN NORFOLK FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AND IMPERSONATION
A former healthcare worker at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and a volunteer for St John Ambulance, Jordan Ellis, 27, has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for multiple sexual offences. He had engaged in explicit online conversations with girls he believed to be as young as 12 and had attempted to impersonate a police officer in an effort to regain his NHS position.
Police raided Ellis's home on Lawson Road, Lowestoft, and confiscated his laptop and mobile phone.
Prosecutor Ian James explained to Norwich Crown Court that specialist officers accessed an instant messaging service and recovered deleted chat data from profiles claiming to be children.
In one instance, Ellis asked a girl presumed to be 15 if he could also see her 10-year-old sister.
Ellis, who currently resides in Benbow Close, Hethersett, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including three counts of attempting to incite three different children under 13 to engage in sexual activity, sending images of his body parts, and two counts of attempting sexual communication with children aged 14 and 15.
He also admitted to making and distributing indecent images of children.
During the investigation, he was suspended from his NHS role and his voluntary position with St John Ambulance.
Despite this, he sent an email in November 2019 to both organisations, attaching a letter claiming to be from Detective Constable Amy Nunn, an officer involved in the case, indicating no further action was needed.
DC Nunn commented, “This has been a complicated job with Ellis taking many steps to try and hide his offending.
The predatory nature of this individual has been exposed and the risk he poses to children can now be managed.” St John Ambulance confirmed that Ellis was suspended following his arrest and was subsequently dismissed after pleading guilty.
A charity spokesperson stated, “We are appalled by Jordan Ellis’s crimes and our thoughts go out to anyone who has been affected.”
