JORDAN CHAMBERS FROM NEWCASTLE CAUGHT WITH CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN SHOCKING CASE

Jordan Chambers, a resident of Newcastle, found himself at the center of a disturbing criminal investigation after police uncovered a significant collection of indecent images involving children.

The case revealed troubling details about his past and ongoing issues with inappropriate material, raising serious concerns about his mental health and the adequacy of support he received.

Chambers, who was himself a juvenile at the time, had previously served a prison sentence of 57 months after being convicted of serious sexual offenses.

During that earlier trial at Preston Crown Court in 2016, he was found guilty of raping a boy under the age of 13 and sexually assaulting a girl aged between 13 and 15.

At the time, he was approximately 15 or 16 years old.

As part of his sentence, he was placed on the sex offenders register and subjected to a sexual harm prevention order.

His initial incarceration was in a young offenders institution, and he was released on license, but his freedom was short-lived.

In October of this year, Chambers was recalled to custody after breaching the terms of his license.

His release had been scheduled for October 31, but prior to that, authorities took action following new allegations and suspicions about his online activities.

It was during this investigation that police from Northumbria Police’s paedophile online investigation team visited his residence on Elton Street West in Wallsend, Newcastle, after receiving information indicating inappropriate behavior.

When officers arrived at his home, Chambers initially denied possessing a mobile phone.

However, the officers noticed an iPhone charger plugged into the wall socket, which led to further questioning.

Under pressure, he admitted that the device was located under his bed.

A detailed examination of the phone revealed a disturbing cache of illegal material.

Authorities found a total of 157 images classified as the most serious category A, 176 images in category B, and 699 images in category C.

Additionally, two videos were recovered—one categorized as A and the other as B.

The severity of the images was underscored by the fact that some depicted children under the age of 10.

Further investigation uncovered that Chambers had posted one of these images on Facebook, although he was not charged with distribution.

Instead, he faced three counts of making indecent images between July and November, to which he admitted guilt.

He explained that he stored the illicit material on a cloud storage application, claiming that viewing these images served as a coping mechanism to prevent himself from engaging in further contact offenses.

Prosecutor Nick Lane outlined the gravity of the situation, stating, “He said he had a sexual interest in children and he used the images he downloaded via the Tor browser as a coping mechanism to make sure he didn't commit any further contact offences.

He said following his previous conviction and since his release from custody he had received little or no help with regard to his sexual preference for children and had been unable to prevent himself looking at the images.” Chambers’s defense argued that he had repeatedly requested participation in a sex offender treatment course called Horizon during his last incarceration but was denied access.

His lawyer emphasized that Chambers had pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity and expressed a clear desire for help, highlighting his youth and the need for intervention.

Judge handed down a sentence of 12 months imprisonment for the latest offenses, with an expectation that Chambers would serve up to half of that term.

The court’s decision reflects the seriousness of possessing and creating indecent images of children, especially given his prior convictions and ongoing issues.

The case underscores the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in managing offenders with a history of sexual crimes and the importance of adequate support and intervention to prevent future offenses.
