JORDAN CASTREY FROM TUNSTALL FACES JAIL AFTER VIOLENT ATTACKS IN STOKE-ON-TRENT AND SANDYFORD

In a series of disturbing incidents spanning nearly a year, Jordan Castrey, a 26-year-old man from Tunstall, has been accused of inflicting severe violence on two of his former partners in the Stoke-on-Trent area. The court proceedings have revealed a pattern of aggressive behavior, including property damage, physical assaults, and threats, which have left victims traumatized and fearing for their safety.

According to court records, the first incident occurred on July 29, 2021, when Castrey's ex-partner received a series of distressing phone calls from him. At approximately 7:30 pm, he contacted her to inform her that he had smashed a window at her residence on Norton’s St Nicholas Avenue. Shortly thereafter, she found herself returning home to discover two windows shattered, a clear act of intimidation and violence. The victim recounted that around 10:50 pm, she received a call from Castrey, who was accompanied by his then-partner, and he demanded a confrontation. Despite her protests, she was met outside her home by Castrey and his partner, leading to a violent altercation.

During this confrontation, Castrey physically pulled her by her hair, kicked her in the back, and then proceeded to smash the rear driver's side window of her Kia car, causing an estimated £250 in damages. The assault left her with grazes, aches in her neck, shoulders, and back, as well as two small bald patches where her hair had been pulled out. She also sustained a black eye, swelling to her cheek, and pain in her mouth and teeth.

Nearly eleven months later, on June 20 of the following year, Castrey's violent tendencies resurfaced in a different context. His then-current girlfriend, who had recently ended their volatile relationship via text message, was sitting in her car with her young son in her driveway on High Street, Sandyford. Castrey arrived at the scene and demanded his belongings and money, causing her to lock the car doors in an attempt to protect herself and her child. He then kicked the passenger door, denting it, and tried to force his way inside. When she attempted to retrieve her keys and call the police, a struggle ensued. Castrey forcibly pulled her by her legs, scratched her eyelid by attempting to grab her phone, and dragged her out of a friend’s BMW by her hair, leaving her on the pavement.

The victim sustained bruising around her eye, along with grazes and bruises on her arms, legs, and feet. Despite her efforts to escape, Castrey managed to take her phone and leave her injured on the ground. He was later arrested in Leek and released on bail. However, his aggressive behavior did not cease. Two days after his arrest, he contacted the victim’s mother, verbally abusing her and threatening to cause a scene at her workplace. Castrey openly stated that he was willing to serve time in prison, dismissing it as “just a holiday.”

Further threats were made when he called the victim’s mother’s husband, and on the same day, Castrey approached her house with his hood up. He attempted to open her door using a key, prompting her to call the police. She described feeling terrified and ran out of the house, hiding behind a bush in a neighbor’s garden. She then heard banging and saw Castrey get into her hire car and drive away, having taken the keys from inside her house and caused additional damage to a radio.

In a victim statement, the woman expressed her fear for her life, and her mother also reported feeling threatened and intimidated by Castrey’s actions. The court heard that Castrey pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, three counts of criminal damage, theft, burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, and putting a person in fear of violence through harassment. Judge Sally Hancox adjourned sentencing, and Castrey is set to learn his fate on February 20 in Stoke-on-Trent.
