JONATHON PICK FROM HULL AND SCARBOROUGH SENTENCED FOR VILE SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON YOUNG GIRLS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Hull and Scarborough, a man named Jonathon Pick has been sentenced to a decade behind bars after pleading guilty to multiple sexual assaults involving underage girls. The heinous nature of his crimes, which include a particularly egregious attack on a sleeping teenage girl during Christmas Day, has prompted widespread condemnation and calls for harsher penalties for offenders of this kind.

Pick, aged 26 at the time of sentencing, was living in Scarborough when he committed the assault on the young girl during the festive period. Following the attack, he fled the town, prompting a police investigation that eventually led to his arrest in Hull. The police tracked him down after he attempted to evade justice, and he was subsequently charged and convicted for his actions.

His sentencing took place at York Crown Court last Wednesday, where he was handed a total prison term of ten years for the series of crimes. The court heard that Pick had attacked two underage girls, with the first victim, a teenage girl, subjected to two separate assaults. Both victims were attacked while they were sleeping, with Pick exploiting their vulnerability for his own sexual gratification. Following the sentencing, North Yorkshire Police officials praised the bravery of the victims for coming forward and helping to bring Pick to justice. Detective Sergeant Mike Moorhouse, of the North Yorkshire Police Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit, expressed his admiration for the courage shown by the girls in reporting the assaults. He emphasized that their actions were crucial in ensuring that Pick was held accountable for his crimes.

DS Moorhouse also indicated that investigations are ongoing to determine whether Pick may have committed additional offenses. He highlighted the disturbing features of Pick’s offending behavior, which have raised concerns about the possibility of further victims. The police are continuing their inquiries to uncover any other crimes that may be linked to him.

In the wake of the case, a relative of one of the victims has called for stricter measures to be taken against paedophiles. The family member, who requested anonymity for legal reasons, argued that current punishments are insufficient. They stated, “Anybody who attacks an underage child should have their face plastered everywhere, so when they eventually get out, everybody knows what they’ve done.”

They further criticized the current system, saying, “Signing the sex offenders’ register simply isn’t enough – what’s the point of a name if you don’t know what they look like? I’m very happy that he’s behind bars, but I would have liked to have seen a longer sentence.”

Pick’s case has once again highlighted the importance of vigilance and robust legal measures to protect vulnerable children from predators.
