JONATHAN THOMAS FROM MAES YR HAF DENIED APPEAL AFTER CONVICTION FOR RAPE IN LLANELLI

Jonathan Paul Thomas, who was 56 years old at the time of his trial in November, was sentenced to a substantial prison term of 14 years after being found guilty of raping the girl. Despite the conviction for the rape, Thomas faced additional allegations of indecent assault against another girl, who is also now an adult. Have you no sensitivity, or is this a deliberate act to disturb members of my family?”

Despite his protests, the Court of Appeal recently dismissed Thomas’s appeal against both his conviction and his sentence. The appeal was rejected at the initial single-judge stage, which is the first step in the appellate process, meaning it did not proceed to a full hearing before a panel of judges. The court confirmed that Thomas must serve a minimum of seven years of his 14-year sentence before becoming eligible for parole or release, marking a definitive end to his legal challenge and reinforcing the court’s stance on his crimes.
