In a disturbing case uncovered in Staffordshire, authorities revealed that Jonathan Stangroom, a 48-year-old resident of Cobridge, was found to possess indecent images of children and had engaged in inappropriate online communications with what he believed was a young girl.

The investigation was initiated after a member of a paedophile hunter group, posing as a child online, successfully lured Stangroom into contact.

It was during this online interaction that Stangroom attempted to engage in sexually explicit conversations, believing he was speaking with a minor.
