Emmie Dalton, a woman from Sheffield, recounts a terrifying incident involving her ex-partner, Jonathan Hunt, who launched a violent attack on her.

After Hunt suddenly attacked her out of nowhere, she was left covered in blood and fearing for her life.

In a quick and desperate move, Emmie used blood from her injuries to write Hunt's name on her bedroom wall as evidence.

She managed to escape from Hunt, who broke down her door, and called the police.

Hunt was arrested the following day and later sentenced to two years and 11 months in prison at Derby Crown Court for actual bodily harm.

Emmie described her injuries, including the need for future nose surgery and lasting scars, as a reminder of the attack.

Hunt's previous convictions include 28 offences, some from a domestic context.

Emmie expressed her belief that Hunt's sentence was too lenient and warned about the dangers of shorter sentences that could allow abusers to walk free, especially in cases of domestic violence.
