JAIL FOR EASTBOURNE WHEELCHAIR-BOUND PERVERT JONATHAN CAVALIER WHO ABUSED 11-YEAR-OLD BOY

In a case that has shocked the community of Eastbourne, Jonathan Cavalier, a 45-year-old man confined to a wheelchair, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of heinous sexual offenses involving an 11-year-old boy. The incident dates back to 2004, when Cavalier, who was already a known sex offender, manipulated and exploited the young victim in a series of disturbing acts.

According to court records, Cavalier used a deceptive ploy to lure the boy into a vulnerable situation. He pretended to have lost his wallet and asked the child to assist him in locating it, a ruse that allowed him to secretly film the boy with a hidden camera. After capturing the footage, Cavalier threatened to use it to falsely portray the boy as a thief unless he complied with his demands. This manipulation was part of a broader pattern of grooming and coercion that culminated in sexual abuse.

The court heard that Cavalier, who resided on Parkfield Avenue in Eastbourne, had a troubling criminal history. He had previously served seven years for a violent attack on a woman in 1988, which involved staging a masked gunpoint assault. His life took a tragic turn when he was paralyzed from the waist down following a motorcycle accident, which did not deter his predatory behavior.

During the trial, it was revealed that Cavalier had kept detailed diaries outlining his intentions and plans to manipulate and sexually abuse the young boy. Judge Richard Hayward described the victim as a “troubled young lad,” noting that the trauma inflicted had led to significant personal difficulties for the child in later years.

In court, Cavalier was found guilty of two counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault against the same boy. The judge condemned his actions, emphasizing the calculated nature of his crimes and the abuse of trust involved. Cavalier’s behavior was characterized by a disturbing level of premeditation, with the judge pointing out that he had documented his intentions well in advance.

As a result of his conviction, Cavalier received an extended determinate sentence of 13 years. He will not be eligible for parole until he has served at least two-thirds of his sentence, and any early release would require approval from a parole board. Furthermore, upon release, he will be subject to a seven-year period of supervision under license conditions. He is also prohibited from having any contact with children under the age of 16 unless explicitly approved by their parents and with full awareness of his criminal record.

The judge concluded by stating, “I am quite satisfied you are a dangerous man, born perhaps out of physical and sexual frustration,” underscoring the severity of the threat Cavalier poses to society and the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children from individuals like him.
