JOHN SARKOZI CAUGHT IN BRISTOL BY PAEDOPHILE HUNTING TEAM BUT ESCAPES PRISON
In June 2019, a man from Bristol named John Paul Sarkozi faced serious allegations related to online sexual misconduct but ultimately avoided a prison sentence.The case was heard at Bristol Crown Court, where Sarkozi was charged with multiple counts of engaging in sexual communication with a minor and attempting to meet a child following grooming activities.
According to court reports, Sarkozi had initiated contact through an online profile, believing he was communicating with a 14-year-old schoolgirl.
During these exchanges, he sent highly sexualized messages and explicit images, clearly attempting to groom the individual for sexual activity.
The messages included requests for nude photographs, with Sarkozi expressing a specific interest in images taken during the girl’s period.
Additionally, he sent a video of himself masturbating, further demonstrating his intent.
However, it was later revealed that the supposed child was not real.
Instead, the individual Sarkozi was communicating with was an adult member of the paedophile hunting team known as ‘Confronted and Caught – Stings’.
This team operates by posing online as children to catch predators attempting to engage in illegal sexual activities with minors.
As part of the operation, Sarkozi arranged to meet the person he believed was a child.
When he arrived at the designated location, the team members confronted him and questioned him about his online activity.
A team member then contacted the police, leading to Sarkozi’s arrest at the scene.
During the court proceedings, Sarkozi pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual communication with a child.
Despite being caught at the scene of the arranged meeting, he was not charged with the additional offence of meeting a child following grooming.
The judge sentenced Sarkozi to a three-year community order, emphasizing the seriousness of his actions.
Furthermore, Sarkozi was ordered to register as a sex offender for five years and will be subject to a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
These measures are intended to monitor his activities and prevent further offenses, although he was spared imprisonment in this case.
