JOHN ROONEY FROM KELSO SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT IN THE BORDERS
In September 2015, a man from Kelso named John Rooney was sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.The assault took place at an address located within the Borders region, with the incident occurring sometime between April 2009 and April 2010.
The young girl, whose identity remains protected for legal reasons, was the victim of a serious and disturbing crime that has garnered significant attention.
