JOHN POLLOCK FROM PERTH CAUGHT IN BREACH OF COURT ORDERS AFTER PROPOSITIONING SCHOOLGIRLS IN ABERFELDY
A Perthshire man with a prior sex offenses conviction has been fined after breaching court conditions.John Pollock, 61, was placed on the sex offenders register in September 2023 after admitting to asking two 15-year-old girls for oral sex in Aberfeldy during April of that year.
He was given a one-year supervision order as a less severe measure than jail.
Recently, Pollock appeared in Perth Sheriff Court to plead guilty to failing to inform authorities about a new bank debit card between late December 2024 and early January 2025, breaching his notification obligations.
The sheriff reminded him that such conditions are necessary and must be obeyed.
The case also involved an incident the previous year in August, where Pollock terrified two 16-year-olds on Foundry Lane by making lewd comments about his genitals, claiming to have a micro penis.
He admitted to making indecent verbal comments in court.
His criminal record includes being added to the sex offender register after the April 2023 incident, and he was assessed by MAPPA as posing a high risk of harm.
On August 22, Pollock approached the victims before their evening pickup, starting with a suspicious question and revealing his status as a registered sex offender.
He told the girls he had asked two others for oral sex, and then propositioned them for a threesome.
One girl, frightened, texted a friend for help while Pollock continued talking about his genitals and expressing romantic interest.
The police responded to the report, arresting Pollock early that morning.
He had previously been placed on supervision for similar offenses in April 2023 and fined for breaching notification rules in February.
His defense lawyer explained that Pollock had little memory of the events and sought rehabilitative programs like Moving Forward 2 Change.
Recent personal losses had affected his mental health.
The court’s sheriff expressed concerns about Pollock’s compliance with court orders, noting his dangerousness and considering detention.
Ultimately, he was sentenced to three years of supervision, with conditions including participation in a sex offender program and a five-month nightly curfew.
Pollock’s name will stay on the sex offenders register for five years.
