JOHN-PAUL GRIFFIN FROM CLYDEBANK TRAINED DOG TO FIGHT, LEADING TO ATTACK AND EUTHANASIA
John-Paul Griffin, a resident of Garscadden View, North Drumry in Clydebank, was involved in a disturbing incident involving his American bulldog, Kaiser. The case, which drew significant attention in the local community, culminated in the dog being euthanised after it attacked a young pug named Chase.According to court records, Griffin had deliberately trained Kaiser to be aggressive, a decision that ultimately led to tragic consequences. The incident occurred while Chase was being walked by two children, one of whom was a young boy. During the attack, Kaiser seized the pug and inflicted serious injuries, biting him on the body and refusing to release him despite commands to do so. The dog then turned its aggression towards one of the children, biting him on the finger, which caused injury.
The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Scottish SPCA) took custody of Kaiser following the attack. After a thorough assessment, the charity concluded that the dog's age and the difficulty in rehoming him were significant factors in their decision to have Kaiser euthanised.
