PERTH PENSIONER ON REGISTER FOR SHOCKING WINDOW DISPLAYS
A naked pensioner who exposed himself to women hanging out their laundry has been placed on the sex offenders register.Pensioner John McHoul was observed multiple times standing at the window of his Perth city centre home and engaging in a solo sex act.
His unwanted displays persisted for nearly six months.
Eventually, two women, both frustrated by having to retreat indoors whenever they saw him at his window, reported the incidents to the police.
McHoul appeared at Perth Sheriff Court and admitted to deliberately exposing his genitals in a sexual manner to both victims with the intention of being seen.
The incidents occurred several times between January 1 and June 26 this year.
The prosecuting officer, Elizabeth Hodgson, stated that both complainants did not know McHoul but lived in the same area.
The first woman was outside in a communal garden when she saw him naked and performing a solo sex act at his window, which caused her to become alarmed and retreat to her home.
This happened on multiple days, with witnesses recalling at least five occurrences.
The second woman experienced the same behavior during early June while hanging her clothes, after which she also went inside.
She and the first complainant decided to go to the police together.
McHoul was arrested but did not respond when cautioned and charged.
The sheriff deferred sentencing for background reports and indicated that given the nature of the charge, he could not deal with the case immediately.
Instead, he continued McHoul's bail, and from that point, McHoul was to be placed on the sex offenders register.
The duration of his registration will be determined at his sentencing in October.
