SHERWOOD MAN JOHN KELLY SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE
A Sherwood man has been jailed after sexually abusing a woman while she was sleeping.John Kelly pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman who woke to find him abusing her in her own bed just before 11.30pm on 16 February 2022.
Kelly appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday (18 May) and was jailed for 18 months.
The 36 year old was also placed on a restraining order for five years and added to the sexual offenders' register for 10 years.
Detective Sergeant Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an extremely distressing incident for the victim who trusted Kelly but his actions on that evening were completely despicable and I hope his sentence today brings some comfort to the victim knowing he will now serve time behind bars for his crime.
