JOHN HARRINGTON FROM KNUTSFORD SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS FOR LONG-TERM SEXUAL ABUSE OF BOY

A 78-year-old man from Knutsford, John Harrington, has been handed a six-year prison sentence after being found guilty of sexually abusing a young boy over a period of more than eight years.

The abuse reportedly began in the late 1990s, when the victim was still a child, and continued into his late teens.

Harrington, who maintained his innocence throughout the trial, denied all charges but was ultimately convicted by a jury after a detailed trial process.

The victim, now 27 years old, provided a heartfelt account of the profound and lasting trauma inflicted upon him during the years of abuse.
