In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Halifax, John Fitzgerald, born in 1960, and Jacqueline Glennon, born in March 1975, have been found guilty of severe animal cruelty and neglect at their residence on Malton Street, Halifax HX3 6HS. The incident came to light after authorities uncovered a horrifying situation involving multiple animals suffering in deplorable conditions, culminating in Fitzgerald's brutal killing of a cat named Guinevere.On April 1, 2021, RSPCA inspectors Kris Walker and Nikki Cheetham responded to a report from a concerned member of the public. The report detailed that Fitzgerald had claimed to have strangled Guinevere, a cat that was found dead at the property. Upon arrival, the inspectors conducted a thorough investigation and discovered a total of 18 cats living in a state of neglect and suffering from various health issues. The conditions of the animals were appalling, with many showing signs of flea infestations, skin diseases, malnutrition, and respiratory problems.
