Oct 2007 Pensioner jailed for sex acts on girls A PENSIONER has been jailed for six years at Cardiff crown court for sexually abusing two girls. John Dobbins, 68, had been involved in “disgusting and disgraceful offences,” said Judge David Morris. Dobbins, of Beaumont Close, Ebbw Vale, had been found guilty in August of two charges of indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 13 and one charge of indecency with a girl under the age of 13. The offences, said Prosecutor Mike Hammett occurred in the Ebbw Vale area in 1970s and 1990s. The judge told Dobbins: “These are serious offences. You lay on top of the first girl and simulated sexual intercourse.” It was plain, he said from her evidence that his conduct had a profound effect on her. Dobbins, he said exposed himself to the other girl and made her commit a sex act on him. The Judge said: “You committed these crimes just to satisfy your sexual lust. People just can’t act in this way with impunity and you show no remorse for what you did.” The Judge ordered that on his release Dobbins register as a sex offender for life and disqualified him from ever working with children.
