MAN ACCUSED OF MALE RAPE APPEARS IN COURT

A male individual accused of sexually assaulting another man attended Newport Magistrates' Court.

Scott Bendall, aged 38, faces charges of rape and penetration assault concerning an incident in Ebbw Vale during autumn 2024.

Representing the defendant, who resides at Ger Y Maes, Llanelli, no plea was entered.

The case has been transferred to the crown court, with an upcoming hearing scheduled for July 10.

Bendall was released on conditional bail granted by District Judge Sophie Toms.
