JOHN ALLSOP AND EILEEN WIEDHOFT SENTENCED IN LUTON OVER INDECENT CHILD PHOTOGRAPHS
In October 2012, John Allsop, 65, of Southwood Road, Dunstable, was sentenced to two years in prison at Luton Crown Court for charges related to indecent images of children. His accomplice, 30-year-old Eileen Wiedhoft, described in court as a “photographer’s mate,” received a suspended sentence. Wiedhoft had engaged children in sexual activities to be photographed, with her offenses taking place during 2005 and 2006.Allsop pleaded guilty to making, possessing, and distributing indecent photographs, as well as possessing extreme pornography. Wiedhoft, a resident of Luton, was convicted by a jury earlier that summer of two offenses—making indecent images and engaging a child in sexual activity.
The court revealed that Allsop had collected a large number of indecent images of young girls aged between three and 16. It was also noted that Wiedhoft had assisted by locating young girls, reassuring them, encouraging them to pose nude for photographs, and engaging in sexual acts on camera.
Judge Barbara Mensah commented on Wiedhoft’s role, describing her as essentially a “photographer’s mate.” Upon sentencing, Allsop received a two-year jail term, while Wiedhoft was given a 12-month sentence suspended for 18 months, along with an order to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
Both individuals were imposed with Sexual Offences Prevention Orders, and their names will be added to the sex offenders register.
