On May 18, a man sentenced to 18 years in prison for abusing two young girls over a period of seven years.
Joginder Mahay, aged 51 and residing on St Johns Hill in Sevenoaks, engaged in prolonged abuse of his victims, yet he maintained his innocence throughout his trial.
A jury convicted him on multiple charges, including six counts of rape, eight counts of indecent assault, one count of digital penetration, and two counts of sexual activity with a minor.
The abuse began in Gravesend between 2000 and 2007, when the girls were only seven and nine years old.
In addition to his prison sentence, Mahay will serve a further five years under an extended disposal order.
He will also be subject to a lifelong inclusion on the Sex Offenders’ Register and has been issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order to restrict his future conduct.
