JESSICA CRANE SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR MURDER OF MOTHER IN WORCESTER
Jessica Crane, a 50-year-old woman, has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted of the murder of her 69-year-old mother, Janet Mason.The deadly incident took place at Janet Mason’s home on Green Lane in Worcester, where Jessica carried out a stabbing attack with a carving knife.
Ms.
Mason died at the scene from her injuries on March 9 of the previous year.
Jessica Crane pleaded not guilty to the murder charge but was found guilty by a jury at Worcester Crown Court on a recent Thursday.
She has been ordered to serve a minimum of 12 and a half years before becoming eligible for parole, with the sentence considered a life term.
A police spokesperson described the case as “a sad case which understandably has been devastating for Janet's family” and expressed their relief that justice has been served, stating, “I'm pleased that justice has been done and the family now have some closure.” The verdict offers finality to the victim’s loved ones and underscores the tragic consequences of domestic violence in the region.
